Wendi Kirby Music offers Excellence in Creative Music Education. Monterey location offers RCM Smart Start Music (Newborn - Age 4), Little Musicians (4-6 years), Group Piano (Adults and Kids), Instrumental Instruction, Music Workshops, Creativity Retreats, and Concert Series.

Wendi Kirby is a classically trained pianist, composer, and educator. Wendi has been teaching for over 30 years. She has served in many leadership roles in music education including President of the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (the state affiliate of Music Teachers National), and Founding Teacher, Founding School, and Center Representative for the Royal Conservatory of Music. She was awarded the prestigious Music Teachers National Association, Foundation Fellow Award and Steinway Top Teacher Award in 2021. Wendi’s music is now reaching audiences throughout the world as she shares her passion as a composer and performing artist. Her latest album, Bloom (Pastiche Records), is complied of solo piano vignettes. Her versatile and lyrical style is inspired by the people that touch her life and their stories connect the audience to her music.

Royal Conservatory of Music - Smart Start (For children birth - 4 years)
Unleashing young minds through the power of music in a nurturing environment immersed in a world of imagination and creativity. Our Music and Movement classes are designed for little ones from birth through 4 years of age accompanied by the grown-ups who love them. Through delightful activities and engaging exercises, Smart Start nurtures your child’s brain development, natural sense of rhythm, coordination, and love for music. Watch as their confidence soars and their passion for creativity takes flight!

Little Musicians (Ages 4 - 6)
Little Musicians class is full of fun musical activities to inspire your little maestro. We will explore music and movement, simple percussion, listening skills, introductory piano, ukulele, and recorder skills.

Group Piano (Ages 5 - 18)
Students learn to play the piano in a small group setting where they learn to read music, improvise, arrange, and compose. Students ignite their creativity and gain confidence as they embark on an exciting musical journey alongside their peers. Together, they learn the power of teamwork and shared achievement, fostering a sense of camaraderie and friendships that last a lifetime.

Adult Group Piano (Beginner - Advanced)
Join a vibrant community of like-minded adults who share the love of music. Adult piano class integrates at the piano classes with music theory, creative mindset workshops, creative socials, and special guest appearances. All styles of music provide the opportunity to develop the technique and skills necessary to enjoy playing the piano forever. Group piano provides a supportive and inspiring environment where you can connect with fellow students, exchange ideas, and celebrate musical achievements together.
