About Us

Monterey Hostel offers clean, safe, and eco-friendlier overnight lodging where travelers can connect and share resources to reduce their impact on the planet, all while exploring the natural beauty of the Central Coast. We are a nonprofit lodging provider committed to making Monterey Bay more accessible. We offer private and communal lodging to school groups, families, and adventure travelers.

Guests can choose private rooms or shared dorm-style lodging, each with an ensuite bathroom for comfort and convenience. Our affordable, community-centered accommodations welcome families, students, international travelers, and outdoor adventurers.

More than a place to stay, Monterey Hostel encourages cultural exchange and sustainable travel. Guests share meals in the communal kitchen, relax in the lounge, and join weekly activities like hikes, movie nights, and pancake breakfasts.

Steps from Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium, we’re an ideal base for exploring the Central Coast. Every stay supports a nonprofit dedicated to sustainability, connection, and accessibility.
